Please use the bins provided around the village or take your litter with you.
We contract a lengthsman to empty the litter and dog waste bins in the village and this is normally carried out once a week.
For several years, littering in the play area and playing field has been an increasing problem, despite having had five bins in these areas. For 2024/25 we have removed those bins, as an experiment, because other councils have found that this actually reduces littering in similar areas! So far the experiment is working and if this continues we will consider making the change permanent. If you have views on the subject please contact the clerk.
